The Dazzling Hong Kong Skyline

I've been to many big cities and I've seen a lot of impressive skylines but I gotta say, Hong Kong takes the cake.

When the afternoon turned to dusk, we took a stroll through Victoria Harbour in Kowloon. We were spellbound. The compact cityscape gleamed in the distance and we couldn't take our eyes off of it.

The cool sea breeze was a nice change from the humid and heavy city air. The harbour also possessed a tranquil aura I haven't felt anywhere else in the city. It was the first time I wasn't packed in an ocean of strangers or rushing to get somewhere.

We made our way to the Avenue of Stars, a strip on the harbour honouring outstanding actors and other professionals in the Hong Kong film industry.

Here, we took in the famous monument of Bruce Lee and compared our handprints to Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

Just when I thought the skyline couldn't look more beautiful, the sun disappeared and I was mesmerized all over again.

If you're wondering what all the skyscrapers are, here's a great interactive guide on the island's most famous buildings.

As darkness took over, the crowds started piling in for the nightly Symphony of Lights. Every evening at 8pm, colourful lights and music engulf the harbour for a spectacular show.

Unfortunately, I had to skip it and head to Lan Kwai Fong to meet up with an old friend from Vancouver. It was time to party!

I guess I wasn't the only one ready for a night of drinks and dancing. The streets of Lan Kwai Fong, the city's most popular club and bar district was already buzzing with locals, expats and tourists.

We started off the night with many games of beer pong at 7Heaven.

And then somehow ended up at Volar night club.

Bottles of champagne were ordered and then the party really started!

After multiple rounds of shots and glasses of bubbly, the night began to get messy.

We chatted, danced and popped bottles until the wee hours of the night. It was a great time meeting new friends and old.

Hong Kong has such a vibrant nightlife scene. I always have an amazing time partying in this city. If you're ever in town, don't miss exploring the plethora of bars and clubs that line the alleyways of Lan Kwai Fong. I guarantee it will be a night you won't forget!

I’m a Canadian girl on a quest to step foot in every continent before I’m 30. You’ll most likely find me chowing down on Japanese ramen, partying at a music festival, hiking to the top of a scenic lookout, cuddling with cats, or chilling out at the beach. I’ve visited over 60 countries so far and hope to inspire you to do the same.
